What is this course about?

The three day environmental risk determination, assessment and management course  focuses on the ‘how-to’ risk determination, assessment and management tools and techniques.

 

The revised 2018 version differs as follows from the 2009 version:

  • A much shorter version that covers the fundamental elements of risk management;
  • Clearer and more precise text that is easier to read and use
  • This version of the guideline document is based on key principles that underpin risk management
  • An increase focus on the role of leadership
  • A greater focus on the iterative nature of risk management
  • Integration of risk management with the business processes of the organisation and a
  • Revised definition of the concept ' risk'

Is this course for you?

If you are tasked with conducting environmental risk assessments and generating environmental risk management plans and if you are interested in learning how to use best in class criteria, tools and techniques then this three day course is for you.

 

If you are interested in the entire ISO 31000 guideline, including the risk management framework and context, then the five day master class, Environmental Risk Assessment and Management (CEM 5.3.1) may be the right course for you.

Course Entry Requirements

A Grade 12 certificate and preferably also: • Relevant tertiary education in a field of environmental management; or • Basic knowledge of/and relevant experience in a field of environmental management.
