This course integrates the principles of landscape ecology into the South African environmental-legal framework. It enables decision-makers and land managers to think more holistically about land management and act accordingly. The course focuses on the fundamental principles of land management, the relevant environmental legal framework, land functionality assessment techniques, measures and quality criteria and the criteria for sustainable land management practices. This will allow the design and implementation of sound land management and monitoring programmes.
If you are a professional, environmental manager, land management/rehabilitation practitioner, estate managers or regulator that has to conduct assessments, manage disturbed land or undertake rehabilitation, this course is for you.
A Grade 12 certificate and preferably also: Relevant tertiary education in a field of environmental management; or Basic knowledge of/and relevant experience in a field of environmental management.
